Objective: total quality

Quality is at the centre of all Laica’s business, it underpins all its activities and planning for the future. There are three dimensions of quality at Laica and they always work together. The first is tied to consumers’ perceptions and tastes and is what we usually call “goodness”: its main impact is on choice of raw materials and recipes and, in line with the founder’s philosophy, only prime quality ingredients are used at Laica. The second is that of continuous quality control of the production lines to assure the conformity of products and processes to stringent standards. The third dimension, lastly, is the assimilation and maintenance of the most rigorous international food standards along the entire production chain. Laica’s objective is total quality.

 

Certificates

Laica’s compliance with all the most stringent hygiene, safety and control standards has earned it a series of quality certifications that few can boast of these days and that need to be constantly updated and maintained over time: ISO 22000 2005, BRC ISSUE 7, IFS ISSUE 6, UTZ, RSPO, Kosher and SMETA - Supplier Ethical Data Exchange.

ISO 22000

The ISO 22000 standard is a specialized standard designed for food companies and related companies, with the aim of ensuring product safety across the entire supply chain.

BRC

The BRC, the Global Food Safety Standards, provides a framework for managing product safety, integrity, legality and quality and operational controls of these criteria in the production, processing and packaging of food and food ingredients.

IFS

The INTERNATIONAL FOOD STANDARD is born in response to the need to create a unified quality assurance standard for all distributed food and retail food products. It is now a tool to ensure food security for any food processing company.

UTZ

UTZ is a certification whose mission is to create a world where sustainable agriculture is the norm. Sustainable agriculture helps growers, workers and their families to meet their ambitions, and helps to safeguard the resources of the world now and in the future.

RSPO

RSPO is an agricultural organization with the objective of promoting the growth and use of sustainable palm oil products through credible global standards and stakeholder engagement. The oil palm products contained in this product have been certified to come from RSPO sources. www.rspo.org

KOSHER

KOSHER is the set of religious rules that dominate the nutrition of the observant Jewish people. Foods can be considered Kosher when they respect Torah laws.

Sedex

Sedex is a non-profit world-wide organization dedicated to driving ethical improvements in global supply chains. Sedex SMETA (Sedex Member Ethical Trade Audit) is a common audit and reporting methodology developed by Sedex members to meet multiple customer needs and reduce duplication of efforts in ethical audits.

FAIRTRADE

FAIRTRADE is the international brand certification of fair trade. The purpose of the organization is to improve the conditions of agricultural producers in developing countries through precise standard.
